Turkish industrial production grew more than expected in December, rising 25.2% in annual terms, data from the national statistics institute TUIK showed Monday.



Economists had expected industrial production to increase by 18.0% in December.



In month-on-month terms, industrial production was up 8.7% in December.



Manufacturing output increased an annual 28.0%. Electricity, gas and water output rose 10.9%, while mining industry production was up 15.4%.



In 2009 as a whole, Turkish industrial production fell 9.6% on the year.
