The Turkish central bank said Friday that it bought $30 million at an average price of 1.5177 Turkish lira at its daily dollar-buying auction.



Bids totaled $146 million at an average price of TRY1.5189.



In addition to the daily auctions of $30 million, the bank has the option to buy up to a further $30 million.



The bank purchased an additional $30 million in the optional transactions Friday.



At 1200 GMT, the lira was at TRY1.5175 against the dollar, weaker than TRY1.5050 at Thursday's close.
